Chris Messina, Founder / CEO Quarq.ai

I know, because I’ve lived it.

I’ve sat where you sit, fighting to prove the value of partnerships with tools that couldn’t tell the whole story. I built QuarqAI as an AI-powered partnership platform because I knew there had to be a better way.

Chris Messina, Founder and CEO

Neurodivergent | Mental Health Advocate | Veteran

I didn’t start out in tech. I started out in the Army.

Discipline, adaptability, resilience, those weren’t just nice-to-haves. They were survival skills. Later, I found many of those same principles echoed in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where I’ve trained for over 16 years. On the mat, just like in life and business, success is about pattern recognition, persistence, and learning to navigate pressure with purpose.

Over the last two decades, I’ve built companies, led partnerships, and helped organizations scale. But no matter where I went, I kept running into the same problem: partner teams were operating in the dark.

We had the passion. We had the potential. But we didn’t have the visibility, the language, or the tools to prove our impact.

I spent years trying to bridge that gap — translating gut instinct into boardroom buy-in. Eventually, I realized: we weren’t going to move partnerships forward with spreadsheets and wishful thinking. We needed something new. A new operating system for partnerships. A new way to define value, measure it, and scale it.

That’s why I built QuarqAI, an AI partnership intelligence platform designed to measure and prove partnership value.

This isn’t just another platform. It’s a belief system backed by data, built to transform how ecosystems work, grow, and win together. QuarqAI helps companies move from “I think this partner is valuable” to “Here’s exactly how and why.” It gives you the metrics to justify your decisions, the tools to make better ones, and the clarity to invest with confidence. We built this AI partnership intelligence platform for leaders and departments navigating cross-functional misalignment and murky value.

My mission is simple:

To help partnerships deliver on their full potential.

To bring light to what’s been hidden.

To empower the builders, the bridge-makers, and the teams who know partnerships are the future.

At QuarqAI, we’re not just innovating, we’re advocating. For ecosystems, for alignment, and for value that goes both ways. This is the company I wish I had when I was fighting for proof, progress, and a seat at the table.

Now it’s yours.

Let’s build the future of partnerships together.

We have one organizational value.

Stay Curious

At QuarqAI, curiosity is our compass. It’s how we lead, how we build, and how we grow, with our team, our customers, and our partners. We believe the best answers start with better questions. That’s why we stay open, ask why, and look deeper, especially when the answer isn’t obvious.

Curiosity drives us to seek transparency over assumption, harmony over chaos, connection over transaction, and bold action over safe bets. It challenges us to look beyond the surface, listen more closely, and never stop improving.

We stay curious so we can uncover what others miss, solve the problems no one else will touch, and unlock the hidden value inside every partnership.

The Problem With B2B Partner Ecosystems Volume 3: Understanding Why the “Partner Paradox” Exists

A few years ago, I led an ecosystem team that, on paper, was wildly successful. However, in our CEO’s eyes…let’s say, ‘not so much.’

At this particular company, I took over a partner ecosystem organization previously run by someone who had created significant animosity by tagging into almost every deal in the pipeline, claiming credit for marginally influenced deals, and producing questionable results.

The Problem With B2B Partner Ecosystems Volume 2: The Non-Linear Nature of Ecosystem Orgs

One of the fundamental problems partner ecosystem teams face is a lack of clarity (a topic I’ll explore in depth later). As I explain the Thrum value proposition to potential investors and prospects, one thing becomes clear: partner ecosystems are poorly understood.

The terminology — partnerships, alliances, ecosystem, partner ecosystem, business development, and even “Nearbound” — evokes different ideas and objectives depending on people’s past experiences with partnerships. These experiences typically shape their future expectations.

The Problem With B2B Partner Ecosystems Volume 1: “Believe Me, It’s Working…”

I’m trying to untangle a complex set of problems underscored by a McKinsey & Co. survey showing that 90% of CEOs believe their B2B partner ecosystem teams “do not add significant value.”

Put another way, B2B partner ecosystem strategies fail nine out of ten times, which means the profession I love—which has given me immense purpose since I stumbled into it over a decade ago—is struggling badly, and companies simply aren’t reaping the incredible benefits realized when ecosystems work well.
